just rediscovered one of my favorite artists, Aysha Shehim. I found her website four years ago and loved her artwork. Unfortunately, it was out of date and didn't seem like it would ever get updated (I even checked last week, but to no avail). Yesterday, I was browsing through other favorite artists of mine, and clicked on one of their links to Aysha, and it turns out that she has a completely different website! heh... She has a lot of new stuff, and, best of all, she has fanart for Elfquest, something I figured most people forgot/never knew about.
So, please check out Aysha's work. It's full of character, color and detail and always makes me want to draw stuff! "Let's drawing!" ?uestionstar.
In other news, I'm working on an opera called Wouo+Nui!! More on that later.

y job recently got "upgraded" at NSIT Web Services (Assistant Site Developer to Associate), and as much as I might have griped about being an assistant, I'm pretty excited about moving on as an Associate. A big perk is... Benefits! I've had some problems with my eyes recently, problems brought on and compacted by Stickler syndrome.
Many people with Stickler syndrome are very nearsighted (described as having high myopia) because of the shape of the eye. People with eye involvement are prone to increased pressure within the eye (glaucoma) and tearing of the lining of the eye (retinal detachment). The jelly-like substance within the eye (the vitreous) has a distinctive appearance in the types of Stickler syndrome associated with the COL2A1 and COL11A1 genes.
My sister's retina detached when she was ten years old. Eye doctors just found a hole in mine. I also have a permanent, stringy floater in my right eye, and it's gradually being decorated by smaller bits of floating jelly. Nothing serious, but I'm going to have to visit the eye doctor quite a bit in the next few months. I also really need new contacts.. I just found a torn edge on my left one. At least it doesn't hurt?
In other news, Mark and I have been working on a new music group called Violet. It will consist mostly of vocals, synth, guitar and occasional violin. We'll record a demo soon, but in the meantime, go check out our other band, The Dead Superheroes Orchestra! We just played a show last Friday, August 31st, and the crowd was awesome. Tons of fun.
Anyway, back to the kitties!

Baton Rouge.
y family moved to Baton Rouge, LA. I've lived in Houston all of my life, so it's a little weird for me. So far, I feel like Baton Rouge is all of the bad parts of Houston smushed together, but that could be because I am bitter and sad. And trying to convince myself that our old home was better. Not sure when I'll be in Houston again, but I hope it won't be too long from now. I sure will miss the toads and anole lizards (although I already met several geckos and green frogs in LA). Danimals!
